Bike-friendly cities around the world

There are many factors that make a city bike-friendly. But in general, it is possible to find ones that are safe and have good infrastructure for biking. Factors like the average elevation, population of cyclists, number of bike shops and cycling clubs can be used as indicators for a bike-friendly city.

In this article I will write about the top five most bike-friendly cities around the world according to their ranking from one to five on Bicycling Magazine's list.

The first city on this list is Amsterdam - with an overwhelming score of 77 out of 100 points. It has an incredibly high density of bicycle riders which is one factor why it is so bike-friendly as well as some very well done infrastructure for biking.

The second place goes to Montreal with 66 points out of 100 and an average elevation that makes biking quite difficult (one reason why many people in Montreal cycle). The third place goes to New York with 62 points out of 100 because there are not
